Site Visit Preparation

In preparing over twenty companies for site visits, we have learned how important it is to begin early and gradually.  We have an outstanding system for helping clients prepare themselves for a successful site visit.

We also have honed our methodology while preparing companies for over 20 Baldrige site visits.  In one year, there were seven businesses receiving Baldrige site visits, three were our clients.  We have the process and examples to make preparation easier and more thorough.  We help shape-up the facility, and prepare the personnel for the site visit.  We can coach you on partnering with the lead examiner.  We help you have the appropriate materials on hand for the site visit.  We have the processes that make it easier for the examiner during the site visit. This helps create a very positive impression and makes it easier for the examiner to be your advocate with the Judges.

Begin site visit preparation.  Most applicants find it useful to prepare a summary version of the application for sharing with the entire organization.  Use this opportunity to focus the organization on your strengths.  If you feel there is a chance that you will receive a site visit, form teams to begin the preparation as soon as the application is sent in.  The teams can make contingency plans to be executed when you receive notification of the site visit.  This is a much more peaceful path than waiting until you are notified of the site visit.  “While it is the application that earns the site visit, it is the preparation of your people in telling your story that determines if you are a recipient,”  declared Ted Easton, The Bama Companies Vice President of Human Resources and 2004 Baldrige Recipient.
