ISO 9000 – Improve profitability, customer satisfaction, process performance, and employee morale

When you implement ISO 9000, one of the related standards like ISO/TS 16949, or ISO 14001 you will definitely add something to your company.  Depending on the approach you will add either bureaucracy or value.

If it costs you anything net after 18 months of implementing ISO 9000, you are not doing it the right way.  Expecting a 10 to 1 Return on Investment is reasonable for most organizations.  Savings come from removing waste that is currently hidden in your processes.

We don't believe in quick fixes, add-ons, or drop-in approaches. We have proven that they don't provide much value in the long run. We believe the most effective way is to quantify the core business methods and processes, logically address problem areas, correct any inefficiencies, and build best practices into all of your everyday processes. Our expertise lies in helping you build a process oriented management system that can be certified to any required standard.

Our approach is to implement ISO 9000 as a closed-loop management system with built-in systematic continuous improvement.  We also implement it from a systems perspective, because we know in most organizations the waste is in the handoffs between the processes rather than inside the process.  For this reason, organizations that have already done a lot to improve their processes will still benefit from our proven methodology.  Ask this simple question to test if your organization would benefit, “How many fire drills do we have and how much could we save if they were eliminated?”

Organizations that have multiple sites benefit from our methodology because we facilitate choosing the best practice inside or outside of the organization and implementing it consistently across the company.  This can be done in a way that still allows for unique conditions at different locations.

Our approach facilitates obtaining answers from the knowledge experts, those doing the job.  After several months, our approach changes the way your employees think and talk about the work they do.  They begin using inputs, outputs, and process steps.  This changes your culture to a process culture.

Documenting the work standardizes the processes making them repeatable and thus improves consistency and reduces variation.  This means fewer surprises for customers resulting in increased satisfaction.  Employees are happier with processes that are easier to use.

We use technology creatively to put dashboard results, balanced scorecards, process documentation, and forms a mouse click away.  This approach also solves the issue of documentation control.  This approach makes easily accessible the information employees need to do their job.

Process Management Systems Approach:   We facilitate the implementation of management systems, which have a much higher payoff than quality systems.

Beginning at the executive level, we map out every critical business process to find any disconnects, process overlaps, gaps and underground processes that keep you from simplifying your business. Everything is documented to ensure the most efficient workflow, a reduction in fire drills and the elimination of waste. This is a very effective method to bring your whole team together to make the company more efficient, effective and very focused on your customer's needs.

Improvements are all about processes and doing things right. There are many business benefits to managing and improving your processes and procedures. We have helped many companies, both large and small, achieve the business advantages of implementing process improvement with compliance based management systems.

Improve and simplify all of your operation processes and workflow. We help you implement and utilize new technologies to take you from "present state" to "future state". We help you optimize every aspect of the business and move you from reactive to proactive in the execution of all phases of your business.

Corrective Action Systems:   The corrective action system helps manage process changes and on-going process improvement in a controlled management environment. It allows you to "maintain the gains" that you will continually make to your process management system. Without corrective action systems, many companies fall back to their old way of doing "things" instead of managing their "processes".

Corrective Action Systems allow you to track the root cause of problems and take steps to eliminate them. Corrective Action, along with Internal Audit, provides closed loop systems to manage change within the enterprise. Otherwise, changes are made ad-hoc or by word of mouth.  This is an important step to ensure that all the work done to become a process-oriented company isn't lost as new processes and procedures are introduced in the future.

Internal Process Audit Systems:  Simple but continuous audits of procedures, work instructions or checklists ensure that the work being done (the practice) is what you thought was being done (the documented procedure). If practice matches the procedure, the audit is over. If it doesn't, the process owner must write a Corrective Action Report and solve the discrepancy. It's the only way to keep on top of the many process changes that are required over time. It's a simple but vital step in optimizing your business.

Internal audits are key to maintaining the gains you make while preparing standards registration. You must have a way to ensure that the "best practices" and procedures you have developed are actually being effectively implemented.

Auditing of processes and procedures is the responsibility of day-to-day management of each area of the business. It is not the responsibility of the auditors or quality department. This Audit System will, however, help your "process owners" and managers identify and resolve discrepancies between procedures and actual practice.
